5 Happiness Tools For Our Children

Right from the infancy till adulthood, our attention completely relies on being accustomed and responsive to the needs of our children. We also try our best to shield them with love and enrichment. In due course, our control gradually decreases as children start finding happiness in interaction with friends and teachers, interests and pursuits, activities and accomplishments. By the time children enter adolescence; our ability to control the happy button gets limited. Our control as parents remains substantial in shaping the quality of life our children get to experience throughout their lives. Listed below are some “happiness within” tools that we can bestow our children, suggested by MSOSV, Montessori School in Milpitas:

1.       Character
Parents must ensure that their children hold high esteem and good character. Generosity makes people around us happier. Being kind to people not only counts, it cheers up the spirit. Honesty saves us from getting into undue troubles and self-discipline helps us to lead an easier and manageable life.

2.       Authenticity and inner-directedness
These are the essential channels through which our kids will practice spirituality, and add more meaning to their lives; ascertain their passions and their actual place in the humanity. Our children already have the goods. Authenticity and inner-directedness are what make them categorically captivating.

3.       Social intelligence
The ability to get along with people and sense of belongingness are pathways to happiness. How productively children get by their peer society and develop pleasing relationships are basically dependent on their relationship with their parents, their most influential role models.

4.       Learning skills
The key to nourishing your children’s identity is to let them choose and express their learning as much as possible, particularly in the early years when they are busy learning how to learn.
